I've finally finished and for the most part I really liked it. The writing was good and the story on the cusp of being great. As long as it was though (77,000 words), I felt as if I was dropped into the middle of the book. Genotech was an already encountered entity. Unlike the animosity between the hybrids and the purebloods, I felt Genotech should have been introduced as the new villian after we found out that Shai was the intended target of the first skirmish in the alley behind the bar.I like the relationship between Melech and Shai. I like one mate being bigger and more dominant than the other and Melech wasn't obnoxious in the role, which made it enjoyable. And Shai, though not portrayed as a twink, realized and accepted immediately his role was the submissive partner. Well, at least in the bedroom. I do agree that having sex 5 minutes into their first conversation, mating bond or not, Melech's ability to touch Shai without inflicting pain or not, was a bit much.
I didn't mind the overlapping points of view, though the head-hopping did take a bit to get used to. Occasionally the sex scenes were a little jumbled or ended too abruptly for my own satisfaction, but in general they were well written and heated. I enjoy endearments between characters and Melech calling Shai "little one" wouldn't have been bad if it wasn't mentioned constantly even during Melech's internal dialogue and in combination with "green eyes".
The secondary characters were enjoyable and I look forward to their stories especially Daniels. All in all an excellent read with great world building, and I'm looking forward to the next installment.(less)

The King Gift [Sanctuary Warriors] Siren Publishing Classic ManLove edition by Robyn Reigns Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Well done, fantasy romance. I enjoyed her world building. I would have liked to see her continue with the series. It's just a shame that she never did and you are left with a sense of an incomplete story.
While the MC's of the first book do get their HEA, the next characters that you catch a glimpse of, and there were 2 pending in the story, never got theirs explored. It was sweet, but almost a little bittersweet at the end, knowing that there were no more books in the Sanctuary Warriors series to be found.
That's not to say it wasn't worth reading. I found it entertaining, fairly well written (although a little help in editing in a few spots would have gone a long way to polish this book into an even better one) and the plot was consistent. Worth the price of purchase.
Having never read anything by this author before I wasn't sure what to expect. I was more than pleasantly surprised. I absolutely loved this book! A 4.5 star read. Melech and Shai were well written and fleshed out characters and the storyline was very engrossing.
In fact I became so involved with this paranormal world that (I can't believe I am going to say this but) I started to become irritated when another hot sex scene between the men kept me from finding out what was going to happen right away with the rest of the story. That's why I really considered it a 4.5 star book but I couldn't bring myself to give it less than 5 stars since doesn't offer half star ratings. The sex scenes were great but I just kept wanting to get back to all the other things going on in the book.
I hope this author writes quickly because I can't wait to find out what happens between Scott & Dov, Cole & Ariel and please give Daniel his besheret quickly! The man needs some loving ASAP! So if you like paranormal stories and lots of man on man loving, give this one a try. I don't think you will be disappointed!
